hej-labs POS — a modern point-of-sale for Indonesian retail
Running a small shop in Indonesia usually means juggling tools — one app for the till, another for stock, a spreadsheet for the day's numbers, and something else entirely if you want to sell online. We built hej-labs POS to put all of it in one calm system, made for how Indonesian retail actually works.
The problem
A warung, grocery store, minimarket or food stall needs to ring up sales, track stock, take QRIS and cash, run promos — and, increasingly, sell online too. Most tools do one of those things well and the rest badly, or they're built for a Western checkout with Indonesian payments bolted on as an afterthought. The result is a patchwork that's slow at the counter and a chore to reconcile at the end of the day.
What we built
hej-labs POS is a point-of-sale and online store in one. Three integrated apps share a single system:
- Mobile cashier (iOS & Android) — Bluetooth thermal printing, barcode scanning, offline mode, and role-based access for cashiers, managers and admins.
- Web dashboard — products, stock, multi-branch, orders, sales reports and promos.
- Built-in online store — a public catalogue and storefront admin, no separate app.
It speaks Indonesian retail out of the box: QRIS payments via Midtrans, cash and prepaid balances, SMS OTP login, loyalty points, promo codes and refunds, an optional Shopee sync, and a fully bilingual (Indonesian / English) interface.
How it's built
A strict-TypeScript stack on Cloudflare Workers + Postgres, with authentication handled by Better Auth (Google login for owners, PINs for staff). Offline-first on the cashier side, so a dropped connection never stops a sale — the till keeps working and syncs the moment it's back online.
